Back Story

The genesis of Remember Press is a topic I’m asked about often. People love the story of Darrell and how it all began. And it began with a gift.

Older can be painful. Feeling lonely, losing sight of self-worth.

After a busy life, how often does anyone actually really plan for the quieter years? The years without so much pressure. The time to reflect.

Julie, a client, asked me to record her dad’s memoirs. That began a journey that gave her dad, Darrell, purpose, validation, and motivation.

The process gave him a job! And a beautiful book of memories at the finish, to share, to delight in. It was a fast track to raising his mental health and wellbeing through the roof.

Who would have thought?

At Remember Press, we’ve seen the massive difference in self-esteem that writing someone’s memoir, working with them, digging up memories, creates. This photo is Julie, holding her dad's precious life story in her hands.

The validation and motivation is palpable, and you can make a huge difference to someone’s final years.

Collecting their stories becomes a vital part of their lives, their universe. What an incredible privilege it is to share that journey.

On the back of that, I created The Remember Press book writing course to help anyone who has a book to write. It’s big, funny, and comprehensive. And there’s an extra tier available if you need. Small group coaching to help you – support you – shepherd you into the book writing craft.

If you’ve signed up for Tier 2, which is unbelievable value as it includes the whole course, the 6 workbooks, the 6 videos, that will get you from beginning to end, then congratulations. You’ll find that one of the best decisions you ever made.

And of course, we have a small select coterie of top editors from around the world to help you, to shepherd you, to make it happen. Easily.
